
The Xtreme Dancers bested 15 other Hiphop Dance contestants from all over the country in the just-concluded Sayaw Pinoy 2016. They performed their Makata piece to the delight of the audience and the judges. The three-day national contest was held here in Marbel at the South Cotabato Gym which started last December 1.
Sayaw Pinoy: National Dance Competition is an annual event organized by the NCCA (National Commission for Culture and the Arts) as part of its efforts to promote dance in its various forms. According to NCCA website, “it aims to promote artistic excellence in the different dance forms in the spirit of friendly competition. This year, the competition is on FOLK DANCE, CONTEMPORARY, and HIP HOP.”
The boys of Xtreme Dancers are well recognized in the realm of hiphop and contemporary dance after winning the World Supremacy Battlegrounds Philippines South Leg 2014 and the 2014 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in California, USA.
