How the iconic roundball (rotonda) of Marbel looks today is a real testament of time. Did you know that the roundball used to look like a plain-looking roundabout with a fenced mini-pond at the center?
A very rare photo of Marbel’s most popular landmark was unearthed recently by Karl Mikhail Jumilla from the archives of his uncle Nelson Jumilla. It is the oldest photo of Marbel Roundball I’ve seen so far. The photo was taken sometime in the late 60s to early 70s. It’s far different from the roundball of today, even in that 1995 photo of the town posted in this website recently.
Ah, that “classic” feel! It’s good to know there are still existing old photos of the city that are worth collecting in a public gallery.
